CLINTON TWP, MI - With 100,000+ expected, the 11th annual Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise will be one of the largest car cruises of the year.
On Sunday, August 4, car cruisers & car fans alike will hit the streets of Gratiot Avenue between 14 Mile Rd. north to Wellington Crescent. Expect to see thousands of hot rods, muscle cars, and classics rolling down Gratiot with family-friendly activities all day.
"Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise is unique because our emphasis is on the family aspect of the cruise." says cruise committee member Paul Silvestri, "We feature two areas for families along the cruise strip - the Dorian Ford Mid-Way (at 15 Mile & Gratiot), which hosts various community services groups, businesses, and food vendors; and the McLaren Macomb Kids at McLaren Macomb Cruise Headquarters (at 16 Mile & Gratiot), the main hub for all our Cruise activities."
One of the most unique parts of the day will be the Pedal Car Cruise- - the kid's version of the car cruise. Northbound Gratiot Avenue south of 16 Mile is shut down for a short time and kids ‘pedal' their cars with the help of their parents.
"The kids always have a blast participating and it is a huge attraction to watch, because it is essentially the kickoff to our Cruise Day," adds Silverstri.
There will be live music, car shows, events put on by local businesses, and beautiful rides cruising down Gratiot all day. The cost for all this? Free!
