DETROIT - An actress who stars in a Disney Channel show is coming to Detroit to serve lunch to a group of children.
Alexandria "Allie" DeBerry from "A.N.T. Farm" is to visit the Diehl Boys & Girls Club on Monday.
She's appearing in support of Gleaners' Hunger Free Summer campaign, which provides food to hungry children during the summer months.
Tens of thousands of students in southeastern Michigan get free or reduced-fee meals at school. They risk missing meals when the school year ends.
In a statement, DeBerry says: "When you are hungry, it's hard to think about anything else, especially if you're a kid."
The Diehl Boys & Girls Club is one of 60 Hunger Free Summer sites that will serve lunch to children through Aug. 9.
