12 Metro Detroit concerts to look forward to in the next 4 months

DETROIT – The end of 2017 will be a busy stretch for big concerts in Metro Detroit.

With the opening of Detroit's Little Caesars Arena in September, several big names are heading to the area.

Here are 12 concerts to look forward to from September to the end of 2017:

Paul McCartney - LCA - Oct. 1, 2 (Tickets)

The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show—and so much more: Nearly three hours worth of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

U2 - Ford Field - Sept. 3 (Tickets)

Tickets for the U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017: Ticket prices start at $35.00 with general admission floor tickets at $70.00.

Brand New - Fox Theatre - Oct. 15 (Tickets)

Rock band Brand New announced a performance at the Fox Theatre on Sunday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Eagles - LCA - Oct. 27 (Tickets)

This will be the band's first Detroit show since Glenn Frey's death. His son Deacon now joins the band. 

Guns N' Roses - LCA - Nov. 2 (Tickets)

Over the course of the past decade, Guns N' Roses have performed sold out shows and headlined festivals worldwide following the critically acclaimed release of 2008's RIAA platinum-certified Chinese Democracy. Six studio albums later, Guns N' Roses are one of the most important and influential acts in music history.

The Weeknd - LCA - Nov. 1 (Tickets)

The Weeknd released his fourth full length studio album, Starboy, on November 25, 2016 through XO/Republic Records to rave reviews. The Starboy album has since been streamed over 5 million times and certified 2x-platinum, while the title track “Starboy” is now 5x-platinum.

Gorillaz - Fox Theatre - Sept. 18 (Tickets)

The Humanz Tour traveling extravaganza will feature Albarn, Hewlett’s enigmatic characters and a touring ensemble of flesh and blood musicians joining Gorillaz Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, Russel Hobbs and 2D, as they bring to life the new tracks and classics spanning the massive Gorillaz catalogue. 

Musiq Soulchild - Soundboard - Nov. 30 (Tickets)

Musiq Soulchild is a soul artist whose unique style blends R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Hip Hop, creating a sound unlike any other. Born Taalib Johnson, Soulchild grew up in Philadelphia and was raised in a household that educated him in '70s soul music.

Produced by Live Nation, the incomparable music experience will visit Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill on Friday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m., and feature special guests reggae artist Chronixx and comedian Dave Chappelle.

Jr. Jr. - El Club - Nov. 17, 18 (Tickets)

These local Michiganders return home for a couple of shows at Detroit's El Club.
