Funding cut to veterans program; donations requested

DETROIT – Buddy-to-Buddy is a peer mentor program run by veterans for veterans to help them make the often difficult transition from military life back into the civilian world.

The non-profit was first started in 2009.

"Sometimes the hardest thing for a veteran is to ask for help," says Buddy-to-Buddy volunteer Mark Lindke. "The most important thing we do is listen."

Michigan has more than 650,000 veterans who live in Michigan.

Buddy-to-Buddy has lost one of its primary funding sources. So, until new grant money comes available, they are reaching out for donations to keep this vital program going. Click here to learn more.
