Local group looking for volunteers for 2014 project

Life Remodeled gives to those in need

DETROIT - The biggest factor in Detroit's turnaround is people willing to step up and get involved. No group of volunteers has gotten more involved than Life Remodeled, and they're at it again.

In 2013, Life Remodeled transformed a Detroit neighborhood, including building a house and giving it away to a deserving family. The project was a huge success. Life Remodeled held a kickoff event Saturday to put out the call for volunteers for this year's project.

The project is the renovation of Cody High School, with a plan to build a new track and football field. The criteria for a Life Remodeled project is a neighborhood with need and hope.

This is biggest and most ambitious project yet for Life Remodeled, which has transformed more than 100 city blocks with over 10,000 volunteers.

Since 2011, Life Remodeled has built six brand-new houses in Metro Detroit, each in six days. They've also given the houses away to deserving families. This summer these volunteers will create another quiet miracle.
