Michigan credit union offers 3 'Adults Moving Forward' college scholarships

Multiple scholarships available for adult credit union members

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union are accepting applications for the Adults Moving Forward College Scholarship.

This program will grant three scholarships, worth up to $2,000 each.

Adult Credit Union members, who are registered at a Michigan college, university, trade or vocational school, or accredited certification program, may be eligible to apply.

Applicants must be current MSGCU members and must have joined the Credit Union prior to June 1, 2012.

"Adults pursuing a college education is becoming more prevalent due to the changing workforce," said Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union President and CEO Peter Gates.

"We are honored to be able to award some of our members who are trying to move forward in their careers with a scholarship that will help them start setting it right."

The Adults Moving Forward Scholarship is one of three programs offered by the Credit Union.

Applications are due no later than July 19, 2012.

Each year, the Credit Union awards nearly $50,000 worth of scholarships to deserving high school students and adults alike.
