Smile! Detroit takes selfie on steps of DIA

Event part of 'Detroit Week'

DETROIT – A group gathered Wednesday to take a selfie on the steps of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The smiles and clicks were part of an event for "Detroit Week," which is an inaugural week-long celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation.

"Detroit's largest selfie was really a visual of the next generation of Detroit entrepreneurs," Detroit Week co-founder Hajj Fleming. "We believe the city is ready for a rebirth, to be re-branded. Part of that is going to be all these individuals who power it. Everyone knows that entrepreneurship is the engine of our economy."

Throughout the week, more than 500 people were expected to attend more than 10 events organized by the team and other leading organizations like Grand Circus and Girl Develop It.
