Starting as a small fundraiser to raise money for a soccer field in Ferndale, the event has grown to become a worldwide affair with car lovers from as far away as Japan & New Zealand hitting the streets of Woodward.

Over 40,000 classic rides will come and inject over $50 million into the local economy according to estimates.

"The estimated 1.5 million visitors to the Woodward Dream Cruise will make an enormous positive economic impact to Metro Detroit; many will experience the Woodward Dream Cruise for the very first time," says Louis Katsaros of the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Preparations for the cruise have already started. MDOT is halting resurfacing efforts starting Monday, August 5. For more information, click here.
