McDonald's offers free coffee

DETROIT – Branches of McDonald's in Southeast Michigan are giving away free cups of coffee to 'offer a helping hand at the start of the new year'.

McDonald's is offering a free small premium roast coffee every Wednesday through February.

The fast food chain says the initiative is a way of saying 'thank you', and to give customers a helping hand in the new year.

The free coffee is available in the dining room or the the drive-thru.

There is no purchase necessary.
