The U.S. has an enormous cheese surplus
DETROIT – Is there such thing as too much cheese?
The U.S. is experiencing the largest cheese surplus since 1984. The country is reportedly sitting on a 1.2 billion pound stockpile of cheese.
The report says the European Union is the main culprit, as they've become a huge producer in the cheese market, due to a weakened Euro and cheap dairy prices.
More than half of the stockpile is American Cheese!
So, get to eating! We have a lot of cheese to move.
