If you own a home you know that things break and you can't just call the maintenance man for a quick free repair. These easy fixes for some of your common household appliances can save you a lot of money and headache. If you've ever had your garbage disposal break down because food was stuck in it, fixing it is as easy as a click of a button.

"Most all models will have a reset button underneath,” explained Chris Zeisler with www.RepairClinic.com. “You push it and reset it and then you would try it again and flush the water down and see if we can go."

If that doesn't work, use a small wrench to remove the clog while flushing it with water. A broom handle in the disposal itself with the disposal off and the water running will work as well.

If you washing machine rocks or moves too much use a leveler to see if it's balanced.

"We wanna pick the leg that is too high and use an adjustable wrench to get underneath and adjust the leg a little bit," explained Zeisler.

And finally if your lawn mower isn't starting as it should, you don't need to buy a brand new one just yet, try replacing the spark plug or cleaning out bad fuel from the carburetor.
