Fireworks recall, Beware burn hazard

Don't celebrate the 4th with these fireworks

If you're planning to have your own fireworks this 4th of July, you need to know about this recall of more than 36,000 packages of fireworks sold at major retailers and at other outlets in four states.

The commission says the TNT Red, White, and Blue Smoke fireworks can unexpectedly explode and three people have suffered burn injuries.

The fireworks were sold in bags containing three canisters at stores including Target, Walmart, Meijer, Kroger and Albertsons, but only in Illinois, Wisconsin,

Ohio, and Vermont. They may have been sold at other outlets in those states as well.

Here are the product details from the C.P.S.C. : This recall involves TNT Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks.  The recalled fireworks are pyrotechnic devices that make smoke when lit. They were sold in a bag containing three canisters: one red, one blue and one white. Each colored smoke firework is a cardboard cylinder tube that measures about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. The TNT logo, “Red, White & Blue Smoke” and UPC number 027736036561 appear on the packaging.
