Dark chocolate almonds recalled due to undeclared milk allergen
Snack manufactured by Michigan company
A New York food distributor is recalling 6-ounce packages of dark chocolate almonds due to an undeclared milk allergen.
The almonds were manufactured by GKI Foods of Brighton, Mich. and packaged and distributed under the 21st Century Snack Foods Brand based in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk allergen run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, 21st Century Snack Foods announced Tuesday.
The company said no illnesses have been reported.
- Dark Chocolate Almonds: Packaged in a 6 oz peg / stand up bag. UPC# 030603 228549. Affected Lot #’s are 16100 thru 17300.
- The product brand is 21st Century Snack Foods.
- The product is packaged in a plastic hanging/stand-up bag.
The almonds could have been sold in Michigan, and the following states:
AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY
Consumers who have purchased this product will be asked to throw it out and contact the company directly via email for a full refund at firstname.lastname@example.org.
