DETROIT – Back-to-school shopping can get expensive, and it often involves going to multiple stores to get supplies.
If a dollar store is on your list of places to stop, you might want to think twice. There are items you should and shouldn't buy there for a discount.
Those lists seem to get longer every year and the older your child gets, the more supplies they'll need.
Instead of doing bargain hunting yourself, Local 4 consumer investigator Hank Winchester went to the dollar store to find out which items are best to buy there and which are better to buy somewhere else.
