Broken elevator creates problems for residents at Gabrielle Apartments in Highland Park

Elevator stopped working in January, residents say

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – One of the main elevators at the Gabrielle Apartments in Highland Park has stopped working, creating a potentially dangerous situations.

Residents said there are long lines, headaches and medical drama since the elevator broke down. More than 200 people call the building home, and most are seniors.

Many of the residents rely on walkers and wheelchairs, so when one of the elevators stopped working in January, it caused serious problems. Some of the people living there said they couldn't get any help.

They called Local 4 consumer investigator Hank Winchester, who went searching for answers.
