It is the 11th recall for the 2013 Escape. The compact crossover, one of Ford's best-selling U.S. models, was redesigned for the 2013 model year.

Ford said wiring harnesses on vehicles with 2.0-liter engines could have poor electrical connections that could affect the powertrain control module. Dealers will fix the cars for free.

About 133,000 of the cars are in the United States, and the rest in Canada and Mexico.

Here is detailed information about the recall from Ford:

2013 – 2014 Focus ST and Escape Wiring Harness

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 160,000 (actual 159,395) 2013 – 2014 Ford Focus ST and Escape vehicles with the 2.0L engine in North America. In some of the affected vehicles, there may be engine wiring harnesses with splices that were insufficiently compressed during the supplier manufacturing process. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices may cause erroneous signals to the Powertrain Control Module that may affect engine performance. This may result in an engine malfunction indicator light, reduced engine power, hesitation, other engine drivability symptoms or engine stall. Engine stalls while driving with no warning may increase the risk of a crash.
No accidents or injuries have been attributed to this condition.Dealers will replace the affected wiring splices.

Affected vehicles include certain 2013-2014 Ford Focus ST vehicles with the 2.0L engine built at Michigan Assembly Plant February 14, 2012 – October 14, 2013 and certain 2013-2014 Escape vehicles with the 2.0L engine built October 5, 2011 – April 1, 2013 at the Louisville Assembly Plant.

As of July 31, 2014, approximately 133,000 of the potentially affected vehicles are in the U.S. (actual 132,868) with an additional 359 in the federalized territories. Approximately 25,400 are in Canada (actual 25,382) and 789 are in Mexico.

2015 Transit Rear Brake Hose Recall

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 1,300 (actual 1,319) 2015 Ford Transit vehicles in North America due to a potential brake fluid leak at the joint between the rear brake hose and brake caliper. If any of the brake hose washer seals are leaking, the driver of the vehicle will eventually see the red brake warning lamp illuminated and a "Brake Fluid Level Low – Service Now" message in the cluster. Drivers may also experience longer pedal travel and extended stopping distances, increasing the risk of an accident. No injuries have been attributed to this condition.

Dealers will replace the sealing washers on both rear brake caliper to brake hose joints at no cost to the customer.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford Transit vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant from April 3, 2014 – May 27, 2014. As of July 28, 2014, there are a total of approximately 1,300 (actual 1,319) vehicles that may be affected in North America. As of July 28, 2014, approximately 1,275 are in the U.S. (actual 1,279) with an additional 11 in the federalized territories; 29 are in Canada.

2015 Transit Windowless Sliding Door Reinforcement Recall

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 600 (actual 610) 2015 Ford Transit cargo vans in North America due to a potential issue with the windowless sliding doors. The doors were assembled without an epoxy reinforcement, which could increase the potential of these doors becoming unlatched during certain side impacts. That increases the risk of injury for occupants in a crash. No accidents or injuries have been attributed to this condition.

Dealers will install a reinforcement plate into the windowless sliding door assemblies at no cost to customers.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford Transit vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant March 12, 2014 – June 24, 2014. As of July 28, 2014, there are a total of approximately 600 (actual 610) vehicles that may be affected in North America. As of July 28, 2014, 585 are in the U.S. with an additional 7 in the federalized territories. 18 are in Canada.

(There are 145 Transit vehicles being recalled for both conditions.)

2015 Lincoln MKC Non-Compliance Windshield Recall

Ford is issuing a safety non-compliance recall of approximately 1,300 (actual 1,274) 2015 Lincoln MKC vehicles in North America because some of the affected vehicles may have windshields that may not conform to the requirements of FMVSS 205, which specifies that no bubbles or other defects are allowed in the glass.

Certain manufacturing conditions in the windshield supplier's process may have allowed air to be trapped between the layers of glass. A windshield with trapped air may develop air bubbles when it is exposed to elevated temperatures. The presence of bubbles may affect driver visibility, which could have a detrimental effect on the safe operation of the vehicle. We are not aware of any accidents or injuries as a result of this condition. Windshields that exhibit bubbling will be replaced at no cost to the customer.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Lincoln MKC vehicles built at Louisville Assembly Plant from August 20, 2013 – June 6, 2014. As of July 28, 2014, there are approximately 1,100 vehicles in the U.S. (actual 1,139). There are approximately 120 in Canada (actual 117) and 18 in Mexico.
