Sara Lee Deli voluntarily recalling cheese in 6 states, including Michigan

Products being recalled out of abundance of caution

Officials said the products were distributed to food retailers in Alabama, California, Louisiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Texas.

The products are being recalled out of an abundance of caution. Officials said this is because the products were made by an outside supplier on the same day and with the same equipment as Deutsch Kase Haus, LLC-supplied cheese, which is being recalled due to potential contamination of listeria monocytogenes.

Sara Lee Deli has so far received no reports of illnesses associated with the affected product, officials said.

The products were ordered and shipped to retail customers as:
-Sara Lee sliced Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers, Item No. 40205, Product Lot #A319349610, USE BY JUN-12-17
-Sara Lee sliced colby jack cheese, Item No. 40208, Product Lot #A319348610, USE BY JUN-11-17

Officials said no other Sara Lee-branded products are affected by the voluntary recall.

Consumers who purchased the product are instructed to take it back to the store for a credit. Officials said consumers with questions may call the Sara Lee Consumer Relations Department at 888-747-7611.
