How much patients pay for medical expenses associated with heart disease can be impacted by where you live. For example, according to CNN Money, the average hospital bill for treatment of a heart attack without any serious complications is $3,334 in Danville, Arkansas. The same treatment would cost a patient more than $92,000 in Modesto, California.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the following procedures can tally large average bills across the U.S.:

-          Heart valve procedure and hospitalization: $53,282

-          Coronary artery bypass graft procedure: $38,707

-          Cardiac pacemaker insertion or replacement: $33,194

To prevent heart disease and avoid large hospital bills, try to eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol and try to maintain a healthy weight.
