Auction benefits sick children in the UK; show is June 1 at Fox Theater

DETROIT – The boys of British boy band One Direction are offering Detroit fans a rare opportunity: the chance to meet them in person and attend their June 1 performance at the Fox Theater.

Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis have put themselves on the auction block at Charitybuzz.com in an effort to help kids with illness back in the UK.

Proceeds from the Charitybuzz auction will benefit the Great Ormond Street Hospital, where the boys had the opportunity to visit with patients last year.

Now through May 16, fans can bid to meet Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis this summer on their U.S. tour at Charitybuzz.com/OneDirection.

This up close and personal experience will get one lucky fan and a friend:

  • Two tickets in the first 10 rows to the June 1, 2012 show at Detroit's Fox Theater
  • An individual photo op with the entire band
  • VIP access to soundcheck before the show
  • Exclusive memorabilia including: custom tour shirt, collectible poster, commemorative gift bag and more

The boys of One Direction released a statement saying, "We're incredibly proud to be working with Charitybuzz to support Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. The hospital looks after very sick children and having visited last year, we were all amazed and inspired by the bravery and courage of the young patients there."
