DETROIT – They might share the same name as race car drivers, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. has nothing to do with race tracks and fast cars. Instead, the indie band is all about unique music beats with roots from Detroit.
Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott are the front men of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
They grew up in metro Detroit and say it helped to shape the music they create.
The band's name started as a joke, but it's now become a band name that is gaining popularity across the country. The band is going on tour -- hitting spots from New York to Chicago.
Josh and Daniel's roots make it fitting for the duo to take the stage with their band in Detroit.

Local 4's Uniquely Detroit crew spoke with Josh and Daniel about the excitement of playing in their hometown.
The band is also getting ready to release a new album "The Speed Of Things."
The 13-track album will be available on October 8. Fans can pre-order from the band's website or from iTunes or Amazon. On their website, the band explains the title of the new album is a description of the fast-paced world and its challenges.
