Electronic Entertainment Expo kicks off

World's premiere trade show for computer, video, and mobile games underway

Los Angeles, CA – Gamers of the world unite!  The biggest video game conference of the year officially kicked off in Los Angeles Tuesday.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as "E3," brings thousands of the biggest innovators and players in the video game industry together, debuting the latest, groundbreaking technology.

Think of it as the comic-con of the video game world.  Usually its just for industry insiders, but Tuesday night the expo opened up to the public for the first time.

In preview events, Microsoft unveiled a smaller, cheaper Xbox console aimed for this year's holiday buying season.

But the biggest talk of E3?  Virtual reality.

This is a big year for gamers because its the first time VR headsets are available for purchase.

E3 continues until Thursday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
