Elton John is holding video contest

Elton John is teaming up with You Tube for a contest to create music videos for two of the singer's greatest hits with songwriter Bernie Taupin.

"Elton John: The Cut" launches on Dec. 12 and all submissions are due by Jan. 23.

There are specific genre requirements for each song. "Rocket Man" will feature animations, "Tiny Dancer" will be live-action, and "Bennie and the Jets" will feature choreography. The contest celebrated John's 50 year song writing partnership with Taupin.

A panel of judges will choose the winners. You Tube will provide $10,000 to the winning creators to support future video-based projects.
