DETROIT – June is a busy month for new music!
Some of the biggest artists in the world are releasing new music in June - so get your headphones ready.
Here are the five albums to look forward to this month:
Alt-J - Relaxer - June 2
The English indie band releases it's third studio album in June, a follow up to their 2014 album, "This Is All Yours," which was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the Grammy Awards. The new album has 9 tracks, mostly written by the band.
Katy Perry - Witness - June 9
After a four year hiatus, Katy Perry returns to the music scene with her new album, which is her fifth studio album. The new record features Nicki Minaj, Migos and Skip Marley.
Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up - June 16
With their third studio album and first since 2011, Fleet Foxes fans are excited to hear some new sounds from the Seattle band. The band's 2011 album was nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Lorde - Melodrama - June 16
After her breakthrough 2013 album "Pure Heroine," Lorde returns, now 20-years-old. Lorde mentions that "Melodrama wasn’t a 'breakup album" and stated that "it’s a record about being alone. The good parts and the bad parts, dealing with themes of heartbreak and solitude". Lorde is credited with writing all of her songs.
Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1
The 33-year-old producer and singer releases his first project since 2014, with listed features from Frank Ocean, Migos, Future, Pharrell and Ariana Grande. There are also rumored features from Big Sean, Khalid and Snoop Dogg.
