Fan photos, videos show massive stage fire at Spain's Tomorrowland Unite festival

22,000 forced to evacuate

BARCELONA, Spain – Fans took to Twitter Saturday to share photos and videos of a fire that engulfed a stage at Spain's Tomorrowland Unite festival.

The fire caused the festival to be evacuated. A statement from the festival cited the cause as a technical malfunction.

The Associated Press reported that there were no major injuries.

Fans posted photos and videos to Twitter as the stage burst into flames.

 

 

The festival's statement said that all attendees were evacuated.

Tonight, July 29th 2017, the UNITE Barcelona stage caught fire due to a technical malfunction. Thanks to the professional intervention of the authorities all 22,000 visitors were evacuated safely and without reports of injuries. Authorities will follow up and continue the investigation with the local Spanish organizer of UNITE.
