Microsoft to open retail store at Somerset Collection mall in June

Kelly Clarkson will give concert on day of grand opening

TROY, Mich. – Microsoft has recruited hit singer Kelly Clarkson to help them kick off the grand opening of their retail store at the Somerset Collection in June.

The store is set to open at 11 a.m. on June 28 on the second level of the mall's north building.

What the store will have:

  • A curated assortment of products, including Surface,  Windows 8 PCs, Windows Phones, Kinect for Xbox 360, Office products, and more.
  • A range of tech trainings, business-ready PCs, phones and more.
  • Community organizations regularly host events in the theater space and store associates are out in the community supporting local causes.
  • Through a partnership with Skinit, customers can show off their personal style and design their own lids and skins for laptops, phones, and Xbox. 

About the concert:

Gates open at 5 p.m. for Clarkson's concert.

The first 100 people in line for the Microsoft opening will get two free premier viewing tickets for the performance. One ticket grants the recipient admission to both the performance and the meet and greet with Clarkson after the show. The second ticket grants another person admission to the concert only. The next 1,250 people in line, at minimum, will receive two premier viewing tickets to the Kelly Clarkson performance.
