Nice day for white wedding at White Castle

Couple wins contest to wed at Dearborn White Castle

DEARBORN, Mich. – For Mary Arndt and Jay Sunde, a trip down the aisle means a trip to the Dearborn White Castle on South Telegraph Road.

Sunday at 12 p.m., the pair tied the knot inside the hamburger joint after more than a two year courtship.

The restaurant chain partnered with WDVD-FM to find a couple who craves each other as much as they crave the famous "sliders".

During the contest, interested couples registered at the station's website by completing a short survey. Sunde and Arndt entered the contest after they shared a memorable moment at a White Castle.

"We were out on a bike ride late one night, and suddenly I had a craving for some sliders," Arndt said. "While stepping off the bike, I slipped and Jay caught me before I fell. I thanked him for catching me and he replied, 'Sweetheart, I'll always be there to catch you.'"

The radio station selected Arndt and Sunde as this year's "Craver Couple."

The Wedding:

White Castle provided complimentary food and beverages for the wedding party and 20 guests.

They also received free wedding photography, a cupcake tower and limo transportation to the restaurant.

A DJ from the radio station was on hand to serve as officiator of the ceremony.

The wedding went off without a hitch, or should we say without a pickle, all while customers watched via the drive thru window while placing their orders.
