Elliot Carter has a rare, severe condition but his smile is infectious. He can't eat anything except breast milk, which doesn't have enough nutrients to sustain him.
His parents, Leah and Dan Carter, said they've noticed that as Elliot has gotten older, he's a lot more aware of food. He can have ice, but that's his only snack.
Local 4's Nick Monacelli sat down with Leah Carter and the family for a special webcast, talking to Elliot's doctor about his condition and with members of Fitzgerald High School who have helped bring awareness about the family's difficult journey.
