Henry Ford offers Breast Health Boot Camps

Events feature expert advice, culinary demos

DETROIT – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Henry Ford is hosting free Breast Health Boot Camps to mark the occasion.

The camps will focus on sharing information about breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, along with advice on nutrition and fitness.

Each camp will feature a question-and-answer session with Henry Ford breast cancer experts.

Celebrity chef Michelle Bommarito, who has appeared on The Food Network, will provide culinary demonstrations, as well as recipes and food samples.

Participants can also learn how to do chair yoga.

Boot Camps will be held at the following locations:

  • Oct. 9, from 6-8 p.m., in the Gilmour Center at Henry Ford’s Office Building, 1 Ford Place in Detroit
  • Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m., at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital’s Medical Pavilion, 15855 19 Mile Road in Clinton Township, fourth floor rooms 1, 2 & 3
  • Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m., in the Demonstration Kitchen at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, 6777 W. Maple
