'Go Red' Friday to raise heart disease awareness

DETROIT - To help draw attention to the No. 1 killer of women, metro Detroit companies and organizations will join forces with the American Heart Association to help raise awareness by illuminating red or hosting events throughout February.

On Friday, you are encouraged to wear red to support the cause. Men and women everywhere are encouraged to participate to show their support by wearing red on Feb 7. The red dress and the color red symbolize one's support in the fight against heart disease.
