VegFest2013 coming to Suburban Collection Showplace on April 21

Novi festival will feature samples of vegan food, products, ideas for healthy food choices

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Michigan's largest vegetarian organization will present VegFest2013 annual vegan taste fest, health and environmental expo in Novi on April 21.

VegFest brings a variety of experts, innovative products, and activities to Michigan. The event will feature talks by experts on plant-based nutrition, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, and a food court featuring healthy options from local restaurants, bakeries, caterers and food companies.

VegFest2013 will also feature national brand samples, eco-friendly products, cruelty-free fashion, door prizes, literature, cookbooks and more.

All vegan, of course.

"VegFest is about promoting health, environmental, and ethical benefits of living a plant-based lifestyle," says Paul Krause, president of VegMichigan. "This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sampling vegan food and products, or wanting to learn more on sustainable, compassionate, and healthy, food choices and lifestyles."

Nationally known comedian Carol Leifer will be a presenter for the event. In addition to Carol Leifer, featured speakers include NBA champ John Salley; President of Physicians Committee for

Responsible Medicine and PBS program host Neal Barnard M.D.; world-renowned ultra marathon champion Scott Jurek; author and sustainability activist Ruby Roth, on the health, environmental and ethical benefits of a plant-based diet.

VegFest2013 start on April 21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi.

Admission is $10.00 and those under the age of six are free.
