How to Fight the Flu This Winter Season
As the colder weather moves in, it's an important reminder to prepare for its effects. So Inside Edition teamed up with RxSaver by RetailMeNot and its medical expert, Dr. Holly Phillips, to get tips on preventing the flu and the financial strain that often comes with it.

The most important thing may be to get the flu shot in the first place. "Getting vaccinated reduces the risk of getting the flu
and also complications from the flu, like pneumonia," Phillips said.
People should also be cautious around sick colleagues in the office.
"If people at work are sick, try not to share keyboards or phones," she said. "Wash your hands with soap and water as often as possible and try keep your hands below your neck. By not touching your nose and mouth, you can prevent viruses from entering your body."
And finally, if you do end up getting the flu, antiviral drugs can make it less severe. But be sure to start them within two days of feeling sick.
