Zoo reveals name of April the Giraffe's calf

April the Giraffe's baby boy is named

NEW YORK – We now know the name of April the Giraffe's baby boy.

The Animal Adventure Park in New York finally revealed the name of April the Giraffe's male calf, who she gave birth to in April.

Meet Tajiri - now 2 weeks old. The voting ended Sunday, with the final names including choices like Apollo, Gio, Noah and Patches.

To vote, fans had to donate $1 to the zoo.

After months of waiting, April gave birth April 15 in Harpursville, New York, while an audience of about 1.2 million people watched live online. The baby was born at just under 130 pounds and more than 5 feet tall; he's already grown a few inches in the last several weeks, the zoo says.
