Youmacon is a celebration of all things anime. The convention, taking place in Detroit, has four days of panels with celebrities and people with industry know-how. One of the best aspects is, however, the cosplay done by the fans.
Tens of thousands of anime fans congregate for four awesome days in Detroit. Most of them are dressed as their favorite anime, video game, comic, or movie heroes. Here are our picks for the best costumes we saw.

Obviously due to the nature of the event the vast majority of cosplay was for anime characters. We had a ton to choose from but after considering things like attention to detail, originality, and overall aesthetic; we picked our favorites.

Yeah, we loved this guy's One Punch Man costume. Utterly spot on and he roleplayed it marvelously to boot.
Video game characters are just as colorful, cool, and crazy as anime characters. Clearly, a ton of love went in to creating the costumes on display in this gallery.
For us the absolute greatest was the Borderlands cosplay. They went so far as to use body paint to imitate the art style of the games Rolland, Moxi, and the gang appear in, and it's that extra detail that makes them our favorite.
To be fair to the others, however, these are all top notch costumes. Check out Samus, for example. If you find a single flaw in her costume it's time to get your eyes checked, because as far as we can tell it was like sharing a hallway with the intergalactic bounty hunter herself.
