NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The terrifying moment an alligator snapped at a dog was caught on camera.

Tee Dalton told WMBF in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that “the dog was fine. It just shocked us all.”

Indeed, as their shock can be heard on the video.

Dalton was walking her dog on a bridge at Barefoot Landing, a shopping complex, when the dog stopped to have a stare down with the alligator. Seconds of stillness pass until the gator makes its move, plunging its wide-open jaws through the fence and toward the dog.

Thankfully, the dog moved just as fast, narrowly avoiding catastrophe.

“The fact that I just caught this on video!” Dalton said in her Facebook post. “Don’t mind my screaming it scared me.”
