Live in the D: Recycling electronics, creating jobs

eCycle Opportunities, a JVS subsidiary, will host a free electronics collection event just in time for spring cleaning and Earth Day. The collection will take place on Sunday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at JVS, located at 29699 Southfield Road, Southfield, Michigan.

During the event, businesses and individuals are encouraged to drop off unwanted and outdated electronics, including computers, stereo equipment, holiday lights, cell phones, gaming devices and other items that plug in, regardless of working condition. CRT monitors are free to drop off with each computer donation, but there is a $25 fee for televisions. For details and a list of accepted items visit www.jvsdet.org/ecycle.

eCycle Opportunities holds R2/RIOS certification, ensuring best practices in electronics recycling and data security. All hard drives are shredded to protect personal data.
