Almost anything can inspire beauty trends these days thanks to social media and all the influencers out there. So, have you heard about the latest trend? It appears to be influenced by glazed donuts. The idea of “glazing” is something that’s popular thanks to celebrities and TikTok, and Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan showed how you can get the same look.
Jon explained the glazed look is more about glossy than greasy. It’s something that’s being done with skincare, makeup, and manicures. So, how do you get the look? When it comes to skincare the common method is Slugging which involves putting multiple layers of hydration and moisturizing products on the skin. The end result is a glow or “glaze”.
As for your glazed makeup look, Jon says it’s all about adding an overcoat to your makeup routine. Use something that will create a sheer and glowing look, but be careful about using too much which will lead to more of a greasy appearance which you want to avoid.
When it comes to your nails it’s all about swapping out the clear coat for one that’s more frosty. Jon showed an example of how this can be done on a French manicure. Instead of a definitive line between the nail and nail tip with a clear coat, a glazed look is more diffused and blends the colors while still maintaining a duel color appearance using a frosty coat.
