Also, meet the adorable kitten, Walter! – The freezing temperatures in Michigan are reminding us that the winter season is in full effect. That means that outdoor animals are looking for places to stay away from the bitter cold. Devan Bianco from Michigan Humane joined Meredith Bruckner on “Live in the D” and shared some tips on outdoor pet safety.

Here are a few things to remember this winter to keep outdoor animals safe:

1. Give a tap on the hood of your car and wait a few minutes to alert any critters that may be inside.

2. Be on the lookout for footprints on the hood of your car, it is an indicator that an animal may be in there.

3. Call wildlife rescue or your local animal shelter to help any animals.

This week’s pet of the week is Walter, a three-month-old kitten. The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay the standard adoption fees for whoever adopts today’s pet.
