17-year-old hospitalized after being shot in neck

WARREN, Mich. – One man is in custody Monday after a 17-year-old male was shot in the neck near Paige Avenue and Mac Arthur Boulevard in Warren, police said.

Officials said there was a shooting Saturday night in the area. Police responded to the scene and found two bullet casings, but nobody had been shot.

On Monday, two men drove to the area and fired a shot, hitting the teen in the neck.

He was taken to St. John Hospital on Moross Road in Detroit.

Police said one man is in custody. The other man is still on the loose, officials said.

Police said there was a brawl in the neighborhood this week, and one of the people involved pulled out a gun and shot someone in the leg. It's unclear if this incident is related to Monday's shooting.

Police are continuing to investigate.
