12-year-old testifies about how she got pregnant

Girl's mother's boyfriend accused of impregnanting her when she was 11

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 12-year-old girl took to the stand Wednesday in the criminal case against her mom's former boyfriend, who stands accused of impregnating her.

The girl testified that 28-year-old Trevaun Cortez Brooks was alone with her in her bedroom on three occasions during the summer of 2010 when she was a 5th-grader and 11 years old.

The girl said she didn't realize she was pregnant until she went to the hospital and gave birth to her son on Aug. 9.

The girl told hospital workers the father was a boy in her school named B.J., but she later testified she had made that name up.

DNA testing is being done to determine if Brooks is the father of the girl's son.Investigators said Brooke had a relationship with the mother of the girl and had lived in their Mount Clemens home.

Brooks is charged with felony counts of criminal sexual conduct. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
