CANTON, Mich. - Two drivers were hospitalized Friday after a two-car crash in Canton, police said.

The incident happened around 12:10 a.m. in the area of Ford Road and Ridge Road.

Police said a 37-year-old Canton man was driving east on Ford Road in a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette when he lost control of the car, crossed the center line and was hit by a westbound 2016 Cadillac.

The 37-year-old man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Ypsilanti. He is listed in critical condition.

A 56-year-old Canton resident, who was driving the Cadillac, was also taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Ypsilanti, but with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.

The Canton Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
