2 people hospitalized after fire rips through Farmington Hills home

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Two people are hospitalized after a fire destroyed a Farmington Hills home Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the fire started at the house in the 34000 block of Quaker Valley Lane at 9:30-10 a.m. The distance between the fire hydrant and the home hindered firefighting efforts, authorities said.

The victims were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.They are expected to survive, authorities said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but the house has been deemed a total loss.
