Reward offered in November murder of Southfield woman
Woman's body found inside burning car
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Crimestoppers has announced a cash reward of up to $2,500 to information leading to the arrest of the murder of Helen Gale.
81-year-old Gale's body was found inside a burned-out car in Highland Park on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
The car was found in an alley behind 196 West Buena Vista near Third Street.
Police have not released a specific cause of death for the 81-year-old, but said evidence in her home suggested she had struggled with her attacker.
Gale was retired from the Southfield Parks and Recreation Department, but still worked part-time as a coordinator of a dance program. A vigil was held Wednesday evening in her memory.
