Warren student recovering after being stabbed walking home

Police said 4 men tried to rob teen

WARREN, Mich. – Warren police are investigating the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy they said was attacked walking home from Warren Cousino High School.

Police said four men tried to rob the boy Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Hoover and Common roads, one block from the high school.

The victim told police he was asked to give up his money and when he refused one of the men cut him in the stomach.

Administrators at Cousino sent home a letter to parents warning them about the attack and telling them to be on alert.

"What do you do as a parent besides pick them up and make sure they get home safe?" said Cynthia Gorncy, a mother who lives near the school. "It's very scary. I would be very concerned if it was my child."

The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

Police continue to search for the attackers.
