Wayne County contract means 10% pay cut for AFSCME workers
County, union agree on deal that affects all AFSCME workers
DETROIT – Sources within Wayne County confirmed Wednesday evening that an agreement has been reached with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union.
The deal includes a 10 percent pay cut, health care concessions and a resolution of lawsuits between AFSCME and the county.
This agreement affects all AFSCME employees who are under contract with Wayne County.
The vote began at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Informational meetings began Monday evening.
