Man charged in Roseville bank robbery
Police: Getaway driver didn't know about robbery
ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Roseville police officers arrested a man Wednesday after a bank was robbed on Gratiot Avenue.
Dana Troup, 34, of Detroit, is charged with bank robbery and possession of cocaine. Police said Troup robbed the Comerica Bank at 27990 Gratiot Avenue.
Troup entered the bank and handed a note to a teller that demanded money. The teller handed over cash and the man fled the bank.
Witnesses told police Troup ran across Gratiot Avenue to a gas station parking lot. He left the lot in a vehicle driven by another man.
Police said he offered the driver money to drive him away, the driver not knowing Troup had just robbed the bank across the avenue.
Eastpointe police assisted in arresting Troup as they caught up to him on 8 Mile Road near Kelly Road. The driver was held as Troup fled the vehicle. However, officers apprehended him on foot.
