Sheriff: Patient strangles caregiver to death in Frenchtown Twp.

Sheriff's Office says suspect, victim were arguing over living conditions


DETROIT – The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said a 64-year-old caregiver was strangled to death by a patient Wednesday morning in the 1800 block of Meadow Drive in Frenchtown Township.

The Sheriff's Office said caregiver Nancy Lake and the patient had been arguing over living conditions when it turned physical. The patient manually strangled Lake to death.

The suspect was being held at the Monroe County Jail on an open murder charge. The suspect's identity was being withheld until an arraignment.

The Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau was handling the investigation.
