Man accused of ordering a beer, robbing a bank
Bartender: Man only gone for 30 minutes
Authorities in Port Richey, Fla., said a man ordered a beer at an area bar, stepped away for a few minutes to rob a nearby bank and then returned to his seat to enjoy his brew.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said John Robin Whittle, 52, robbed the Wells Fargo Bank branch of an undisclosed amount of money and then returned to the Hay Loft bar, Bay News 9 reported
A bartender at the Hay Loft said Whittle was only gone for about 30 minutes, and that he wasn't a regular. He was arrested at the bar minutes after the robbery, according to the TV station.
Whittle was charged with robbery and was being held at a Land O' Lakes detention center on $10,000 bond.
There is no word on what Whittle's beer of choice was, or if he was able to finish it before his arrest.
