Woman dies in I-94 crash Monday morning

Police: Alcohol, speed might have been factors in crash

CHESTERFIELD TOSNWHIP, Mich. – Chesterfield Township police said a 19-year-old St. Clair Shores woman was killed early Monday morning in a vehicle crash on Interstate 94.

The woman and a 19-year-old man were in a car that spun out, hit a guard rail and stopped in the eastbound lanes of the interstate at 23 Mile Road. The car was then struck by an eastbound vehicle that could not stop, police said.

The man, of Algonac, was left in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the other car had minor injuries.

The victim's names had not been released.
