Car crash in Canton injures several, including bicyclist

Crash happens near Lotz, Burlington roads

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Canton police said a car ran off the road Monday night near Lotz and Burlington roads, injuring several and causing a power outage.

Police said the incident happened just after 8 p.m., when the car struck a utility pole and bicyclist. Police didn't give a specific number but said several people who were inside the car were also ejected from it.

The driver and bicyclist were treated and released from a hospital. The passengers did not have any life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved. They said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

Because of the crash residents in the area of Cherry Hill and Lotz roads were without power for several hours.
