Delta Detroit to Ft. Lauderdale flight makes stop for repair

Flight stops in Tennessee after warning light goes on in cockpit

A Delta Airlines flight from Detroit to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida made an unscheduled stop Monday evening in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Flight 903 left Detroit Metropolitan Airport shortly before 8 p.m.

A warning indicator light went on in the cockpit and as a precaution, the pilot landed the plane with its 176 passengers in Knoxville shortly after 9 p.m.

The airline would not comment on the nature of the problem, but said the plane would have to remain on the ground in Knoxville until repair parts could be flown in from Atlanta.

As of 11 p.m., the airline could not say when the flight would be able to resume its trip to Florida.
